Webinar- Decoding Single Window Initiative

The CBSA has given Fall 2019 as the deadline for all importers to be ready to file with Single Window Initiative (SWI), which includes Participating Government Agencies (PGAs) such as:

  • Canadian Food Inspection Agency (Ex. Food products) 
  • Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (Ex. Nuclear substances and equipment such as smoke detectors) 
  • Environment and Climate Change Canada (Ex. Hazardous waste and products pertaining to vehicle emission) 
  • Fisheries and Oceans Canada (Ex. Aquatic species) 
  • Global Affairs Canada (Ex. Import quotas on meat and poultry, as well as steel imports) 
  • Health Canada (Ex. Human drugs and medical devices) 
  • Natural Resources Canada (Ex. Energy-using products) 
  • Public Health Agency Canada (Ex. Human and animal 

In this webinar, Gary Price of Delmar Customs  will guide you through a program overview, including how to ensure compliance and ongoing shipment expediency into Canada. We will also detail the new data management requirements for importers and service providers. For example, SWI will increase the number of products that require additional information to enter Canada. Do you know if and how your imports will be impacted?
